Ngong RFC will be taking on Embu RFC in the national nationwide quarters on Saturday April 29, 2017 in Ngong.
This is a clash pitting two sides that finished on top in their respective regions; Nairobi and Central but just who looks like will win?
Ngong RFC had the most competitive league coming out on top in the clubs category of Nairobi region pitting the likes of Impala III, Quins III, Northern Suburbs and Stormers.
They went ahead to beat teams from the Universities category that included MKU Nairobi, Cooperative University, KCA, TUK and Multimedia.
Embu on their side had to be strong in the large Central region with the likes of MKU Thika, Kiambu RFC, Chuka Vikings, Karatina University and Murang’a RFC.
Dennis Momanyi and Brian Adira and Paul Agina are expected to steer Ngong in the fight as Harrington Ambaka, Dennis Mwangi, Kelvin Mburu, Dennis Atemo, Dennis Kariuki and Augustine Munene lead Embu charges.
To book a place in the nationwide quarters, Ngong RFC beat MKU Nairobi 32-10 while Embu RFC saw off Kiambu RFC 21-12.
Winner of this clash will have a big chance to get Championship promotion as losing semifinalists will go to playoffs with Thika RFC and JKUAT Cougars as finalists get direct promotion.
Playing at home will give Ngong an advantage but will Embu give the fight after going all the way to national quarters?
